Mev Puleo was an American photojournalist who through her art became an activist and spokesperson for the poor and disenfranchised. She was concerned about the ability of the Church to bridge the gap between rich and poor–between the “haves” and the “have nots.” She endeavored to increase awareness about poverty, and through her photos and presentations she gave the poor a face and a voice.
