Advocacy Training Workshop

October 28, 2017 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Facilitated by Marisa Vertrees, this half day session will focus on the reasons to be engaged in service and advocacy, based on our faith and Catholic Social Teaching, and will provide in depth training on the “how tos” of engaging in advocacy. Topics covered will include aspects of advocacy in the United States, how the Archdiocese of Chicago is engaged in advocacy with the Catholic Conference of Illinois, and how you can become involved in this effort. We will also talk about how to advance advocacy within your parish, including how to weave advocacy into your existing ministries, such as your green team or immigrant ministry.

The training will include breakout groups and discussions.
