The presenter will be Dave Ozar, Loyola University Emeritus Professor of Ethics, and a consulting ethicist at North Shore University Health System.  As a consultant to a local transgender support group for its educational outreach programs, Ozar has known many transgender persons.  He will explain the meaning of key terms (“gender identity,”  “transgender,” “transsexual” etc.), reflect on our Christian commitment to respect and support the worth of every person, and discuss the ways in which our society has and has not been respectful towards transgender persons.

The event will be held in the Fitzgerald Center which is located on the west side of Ashland less than half a block south of Central Street.  Parking is available in the lot behind the parish school, accessible via the alley next to the Center.
