Mary Deeley, pastoral associate at Sheil Catholic Center, will present a liturgy-based approach to Catholic social teaching. She will focus on sacramental life and what it calls us to be.
Deeley received a music degree from Dominican University, a Master of Divinity degree fromYale University Divinity School, and a PhD in Hebrew Scripture and Early Christian Literature from Northwestern University. After teaching at Mundelein College and Seabury Seminary,
she joined the Sheil Center staff in 1997. Deeley is the author of two books: Mothers, Lovers, Priests, Prophets and Kings: What the Old Testament Tells Us About God and Ourselves, and Remembering God: Resting in the Midst of Life, as well as numerous articles and reflections on scripture, spirituality, and young adult ministry.
