Social Inclusion Teach-In

November 10, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

In the last year, the rights of people that differ from many elected officials in ethnicity, religion, immigration status, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and disability have been under threat. Many people may be familiar with issues affecting their own family and friends, but may be less familiar with similar issues facing others. Illinois Tech is hosting a teach-in to engage the community in a discussion about how to combat threats to social inclusions and brainstorm effective strategies for action. Attendees can stay for the entire event or select sessions of interest. Topics include: African American Rights/Poverty, Islamophobia/Anti-Muslim Sentiment, LGBTQ, Stigma, Black Lives Matter, Asian Rights, Sexual Harassment in School and Workplaces, Veterans, Latinx Rights, Health and Wellness, Disabilities etc.
