How Do We Measure Up? A Report Card on Health Care
for “the least of these our brethren”
Featuring Kristi Kirschner, MD
The Affordable Care Act attempted to address some of the most egregious inequities in our health care system, but how have the most vulnerable members of our society fared? We are still a patched together quilt of public, private, and charity care options with the highest percentage of GDP spent on health care, embarrassing quality metrics, problematic health disparities, and unacceptable access problems. This talk will attempt to unpack the current status of the care we deliver to people with complex conditions— including people with disabilities and multiple chronic illnesses. Kristi Kirschner, MD is a Visiting Clinical Professor at University of Illinois College of Medicine, Department of Medical Education.
