Our Chicago: The Fight and Future of Fair Housing at 50

A one-day community summit marking the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Fair Housing Act, which was adopted one week after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 

Advocates, experts, and community members will convene to learn our history, share tools, and organize together for equity and justice. Free childcare will be provided.

The community summit includes a lunchtime keynote session featuring WBEZ’s Natalie Moore; interactive exhibits; a children’s program on fair housing; know-your-rights and intake clinics for residents on housing discrimination; community conversations on affordable housing, rent control, equitable development, and property tax discrimination; and more!  

Presented by Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and the Policy Research Collaborative at Roosevelt University, with Chicago Area Fair Housing Alliance, the John Marshall Law School Fair Housing Legal Support Center & Clinic, Northside Community Resources, and Open Communities.
