Rally for Immigrant Justice In DuPage County
February 11, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
As the political climate intensifies with DACA, TPS gone or under attack, raids and deportations around the United States, and xenophobic, racist attacks on our documented and undocumented brothers and sisters by local and national political officials trying to say that they don’t belong here, when everywhere in DuPage undocumented workers are hard at work, earning a poverty wage!
Join us for a Sunday Rally for Immigrant Justice in which we will do something extra-ordinary, breaking out of the Sunday routine by rallying for the human rights, dignity and decency of the undocumented and all immigrants in our community.
Join Immigrant Solidarity DuPage, The Lombard Mennonite Church, Rev. Tony Asta of the Gary Memorial United Methodist Church, Pax Christi Illinois and more as we come together in mass in the heart of DuPage and the local Establishment- its churches and its institutions- and through song, messages of solidarity and the struggle for the vision we have of a new DuPage that includes everybody, no undocumented underclass, no scapegoating, no deportations and no fear, but love social justice, economic equality, with lives of decency and dignity in a beloved community in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and immigrants are welcome here! Adelante!
