Project Rozana Presentation

February 2, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Dr. Saar Hashavya of Hadassah Hospital and Dr. Khadra Hasan Ali Salami of August Victoria Hospital. They will be touring North America this winter to tell the story of Project Rozana’s accomplishments and plans for the future.
Project Rozana is an international organization committed to building bridges between Israelis and Palestinians through the field of healthcare, an area of civil society where both communities are affected on a broad scale. In the simple act of advocacy to provide opportunities for Palestinian professionals and patients access to the Israeli healthcare system, trust can slowly be built along with the
most important seed in any area of conflict: mutual respect. To support those who seek to promote life (doctors) and those who need care (patients) both groups can benefit tangibly.

Dr. Khadra Hasan Ali Salami is a mother of 2 and works as a pediatric haematology oncology specialist at August Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem. In addition to building the first Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit for both children and adults, she is continuing a fellowship training in pediatric BMT.
Dr Salmai is passionate about the training of Palestinian healthcare professionals
and building up the capacity of Palestinian communities.

Dr . Saar Hashavya is currently in charge of the Pediatric
Emergency Department at Hadassah Hebrew University Hospital in Jerusalem. He has completed two fellowships (Pediatric Emergency Medicine and one in Pediatric Emergency Medicine). Dr Hashavya also teaches fourth and sixth year
students in clinical instruction and lectures in general pediatrics.
