Stop the Hate: Educational Forum

January 15, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

There is so much we can do to fight hate! Want to know how?

Come join us for our first Educational Forum of 2019, when
Mary Frances H. (Mitzi) Beno, MSW, LCSW
will facilitate an interactive presentation based on
the Southern Poverty Law Center booklet Ten Ways to Fight Hate.

The Program:

After hearing a presentation on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Teaching Tolerance Project, Beno
decided “the information was clear, practical and instructive on ways to respond to hate. It was also too important not to share.” With the Center’s cooperation and encouragement, Beno developed this program that relies on different faith traditions’ articulations of the Golden Rule interwoven with the Law Center’s valuable advice on responding to hate. Each participant will receive a copy of “Ten Ways to Fight Hate.”

The Speaker:
Beno worked for more than a decade as a licensed clinical therapist in community mental health and holds a Master’s degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago. In retirement, Beno combines her professional skills, education and avocational interest in social justice to work with others to bridge interfaith, racial, ethnic and other differences.
