Dr. John Shea will be one of the featured speakers of the Creating a Culture of Mercy series. While religious congregations still guide Catholic health care institutions through various forms of sponsorship, they are no longer leaders on the systemic, regional, and local levels. A new generation of leaders is emerging, and there are committed efforts to form them in the tradition. But how should this formation go on so that it addresses our contemporary context? Dr. Shea is a theologian, author, and storyteller specializing in faith-based health care and contemporary spirituality. He is the author of more than twenty-five books of theology and spirituality, three works of fiction, and three books of poetry.
